Only thing is, being unemployed can most certainly put a damper on the whole issue dispensable income.
In order to put things into perspective I should probably fill you all in to what I've been up to and why having a broader and more open opinion about videogames is important to me. Basically I've just been trying to figure out what to do with my education once I finish up my general ed. What I want to major in essentially. So after much thought I've decided that a degree in Animation and Visual Effects will be my pursuit for the time being. As it may have already been obvious from my previous blog entries I'm really into gaming for consoles and PC. So basically as long as I'm working in the gaming industry I see myself as being fairly happy with my career. The reason I say fairly is because I'm not entirely sure if I will like working with games, or if I'm just a really competitive person who just likes to play games with people. If I'm the latter then maybe I'd be better off in the field of competitive gaming (which I'll never do since I'll likely never make any money doing that.) So there it is. I don't really have much figured out except for the general direction I'm going to be working towards, likely similar to most college students. So hopefully with any luck I'll be going to the Academy of Art University and be well on my way into the industry within a couple of years, that is unless the economy just dies even more significantly in the next 5 or so months.
And on a completely unrelated note: If you're a FC Porto fan then you should follow this blog since I'm a hardcore fan and will totally throw in a few comments about Porto every now and then when I remember. Like, "Porto is going to shock the world again and take Manchester United out of the Champions League." :)
- Au Revoir

Update: It's been a long time...

I'm finally back from my extended break. I went to Maui with my family for a week over my semester break and it was glorious, unfortunately for you guys that break turned into another week and before I knew it a month had passed. It's really amazing how lazy someone can become when they don't have any obligations. Now that I'm back in school I don't think I'll have any problem posting once a day or once every 2 days... Either way here's a picture from my trip where you all can look at and in turn envy me. :)
So in regards to games I've been one busy gamer. I've completed Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, and the XBLA game Undertow since the last time I've posted. I'm not usually a big XBLA gamer but since Undertow was free for a couple of days I figured I'd give it a go, and not to my surprise it didn't change my opinion about XBLA games one bit, instead it just reinforced my opinion that the arcade games are simply "crappy" games for the poor. Harsh, but that's just my opinion, deal with it. On the other hand COD4 and Assassin's Creed both are amazing games that make me regret not checking them out before everyone already knew how awesome they are. So instead of giving you all new information on how good both the games are, let me just reinforce what everyone else who's anybody is saying. Those games freaking rock; Assassin's Creed is one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I just couldn't stop playing, this is mostly due to the fact that I was anxious to see what happened at the end. It basically accomplishes what every other games should be doing at this point, It keeps the gamer playing. Even though it is similar to many older RPG as in the story has some serious depth; however at the same time it's very untraditional in that the game play is consistently fast paced. COD4 is undoubtedly the best game in the serious. It offers the gamer a much needed break from the WW2 setting and gives us all a beautiful look into modern day war, as much as an oxymoron that is, it's still a beautiful game and a must play. COD4 exhibits what is a great example of how tried and true cinematics(Is that spelled wrong? Firefox says so...) can be affectively implemented into first person shooters, something that hasn't been done yet to the degree COD4 takes it, which is great for infinity ward's reputation.
I'm not going to talk about Undertow anymore than what I said because I'm pretty sure if your really that interested you'll just download the trail game anyways. Since I'm pretty much done with every game I own, I've decided to go back to Rock Band and beat the Solo Tour Mode for every instrument except the guitar, which I've already beaten. I also have to convince the rest of my band to finish Band World Tour with me. There's only three of us, the Guitarist(Me), the Drummer(My little sister Sarah), and the Singer(My older sister Bethany). That should hold me off from buying any more games at least for a little while. Now that I think about it, even if I was in the mood to buy a game, what would I buy? Mass Effect... I can't think of much beyond that. Maybe I'll buy the Half Life 2 Expansions for my PC. Well my next purchase is definitely up in the air, In the meantime I'll try and bring new stuff to the table each time I post.
Until next time.

Done with Crysis and a little dissapointed...

So I finished Crysis a few hours ago at around 7pm and it sort of left me feeling a bit sickly. First off, what is up with that ending? Was it just me or when first playing this game did most people assume that it would be one of those epic single volume games rather than a multi-volume game with a mediocre ending involving a boss fight that wasn't even that fun?? Well after reading several different forums it seems that it is indeed the general consensus; however after hearing rumors(or fact, I haven't confirmed yet...) about how the developers were pressed for time in order to release, I don't blame them as much for the game not being perfect. I guess this is just regrettably the case we must all live with.
Don't get me wrong the game isn't bad because of it small imperfections, that's exactly it, the minor flaws are overshadowed without fail by the positive aspects, things like: its amazing graphics, "grade A" FPS elements, good voice acting, and an overall original feel. So regardless of the ending(I won't ruin it for anyone before the game does) this game has a high replay value in addition to all the other previously mentioned properties, making it worth the buck and a must buy if you have a capable system. If I were to give this game a rating on a scale of 1 to 10 I would have to say it's probably a 9, pretty damn good.
So aside from Crysis I have to make a few decisions. First, what's the next game I should play through? Secondly, will I receive Rock Band for Christmas? Hopefully. And Lastly, should I buy COD4 for my PC or for my Xbox 360. For a better means of helping me make that last decision, I should be receiving my new 40" Samsung 1080p LCD TV making the 360 version awfully tempting as of tomorrow. Not only will my TV help me make that decision, it will allow me to provide you guys with more up to date information about the console side of the gaming spectrum, and how that aspect relates to me life...?
It's also going to make me that much more happy. :)
Until Next Time!

Starting off.

I've decided to start blogging simply because of a certain spontaneity that I found within myself. This spontaneity emerged a mere 15 minutes ago, and regardless is still justified. I figure that If I'm going to spend much of my life in front of electronic devices I would rather blog than not. In a simple/awkward sort of way it makes perfect sense in my feeble but developed brain. I don't really know what people usually include in their blogs, but I'll try to make these posts as regular and original as I possibly can. On second thought I'm not sure If I'll continue to post a blog daily so I can't promise consistency in my blogs.
Well, now to some semi-important information. I play games a lot, be it on either my PC or my Xbox 360. This is not a recent addiction or anything of the sort, instead I like to think of it as a passion of mine, it all really started with the NES and Duck Hunt, what a violent little child that game made me, and then the Sega Genesis and everything else up to this current generation. I'm not going to try to give people the wrong impression by saying that I play a lot of different games, instead I'm going to be pretty straight forward and just admit that I don't have the funds to buy lots of games instead I play a chosen few of the current generation games a lot. Lately I've been spending most of my time on Crysis, just because I haven't beat it quite yet. Due to the fact that I don't own a lot of games I know quite a bit about the games I do own and play frequently. Games Like: Crysis, Halo 3, Medieval 2, Half-Life 2, Age of Empires 3, Skate, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and a few other big name titles. I'm hoping that through these blogs I'm able to impart some of my knowledge regarding those games to the various people who decide to read my blog now and then.
So to sum all that stuff up, I'm really bored right now so I'm starting to blog, I really hope this becomes regular. I play a lot of games so through that I hope I can be more efficient and hopefully answer any questions about the games I frequently play. I definitely wouldn't consider myself a "Guru of Games" yet, but I am knowledgeable and passionate about my games. Lastly, I am going to try to be regular that I can expand my reader base and connect with some gamers. Until next time.
