About

Jacob Fraga began his endeavor into 3d art while he was a child playing Nintendo games. His interest was sparked at a young age and his passion only grew greater. When Jacob was in high school, he experimented with the open source 3d package: Blender. After a year of using Blender while attending Humboldt State University for a degree in Physics, Jacob decided to move in a more artistic direction. He transferred to the Academy of Art University in the fall of 2009 and began pursuing a BFA in 3D Modeling. Since then he now utilizes programs such as Maya, Zbrush and Mudbox that enable him to more effectively pursue his passion to create realistic 3D art and hone those skills. Because he came from a more technical background of Math and Physics, he enjoys infusing that knowledge into his 3D Modeling, Texturing and Lighting workflow, and benefits greatly from that. Jacob strives towards realism and focuses mainly on hard surface modeling due to his fascination with the enchanting and believable settings often found in sci-fi movies and art. He is constantly improving his portfolio of work through classes, collaborative projects, and personal work.

Jacob is expecting graduation in the fall of 2012. Now he is working towards a career that will involve him in projects of the level of movies like Bladerunner, Star Wars, and Wall-E. And games such as Halo, Mass Effect, Dead Space, and Bioshock.
