Deckard Finished!

I decided to go a bit further than I originally planned with this piece. But it was definitely worth it because I learned so much along the way. Everything was based out in Maya, detailed, textured and Fibermesh done in Zbrush, and brought back into Maya for the mentalray rendering that I wanted for this project. Used IBL and a directional light for a more pronounced light direction and specularity.

WIP: Harrison Ford as Deckard Pt.2

I've done a bit more work, pumping out some renders in Maya. Just have to add in the eyes, hair, and fine tune the lighting and shaders. This was originally supposed to be a simple sculpt but I decided to take it all the way, after a lot of troubleshooting, looks like it was worth it. Can't wait!

WIP: Harrison Ford as Deckard Pt.1

Been working on this for a while. Just transitioning into the texturing stage. Learning Zbrush's spotlight is a bit tricky, but I can't wait to finish and render it out in mental ray. Next update coming soon!

Robot Soldier Blockout

Going back to Maya after a long break can be really humbling. But I did as much as I could in roughly 8 hrs. I was hoping to make it to zbrush to get some of the cloth work and medium level of detail in but got hung up. On to the next one!

Border Collie pup w/out hair.

Here's the second 8 hour study! A bit more challenging than I expected, but an extremely good experience. I didn't have the time to experiment with fiber mesh like I wanted, but now we get to see a hairless Border Collie Puppy. I messed around with dynamesh for this one.

First 8hr sketch of many!

Wasn't able to include all the details I wanted to but I need to start working on something fresh. I'm limiting myself to 8hrs per model for practice. I got the tip from Ryan Kingslien who recommends it for improvement.
